About

A friendly converter that helps the answer make sense.

Conversion Buddy combines exact conversions with memorable examples, useful tables, saved values and friendly explanations.

Why I built Conversion Buddy

Conversion apps are good at producing numbers, but numbers alone are not always easy to understand. Knowing that 25°C equals 77°F is useful; understanding that it is a warm day is easier to remember.

Conversion Buddy was created to combine exact conversions with everyday reference points, practical tables and explanations of the measurement differences people encounter while travelling, cooking, driving, shopping or working around the home.

Examples first, calculator ready

The Home screen starts with useful examples rather than a blank input field. When an exact answer is needed, the Convert screen shows several useful equivalents from a single value.

The app is deliberately friendly rather than academic. Practical rounding, region profiles and reversible tables help users work with the units they actually recognise.

Part of Travel Tools & Tips

Conversion Buddy is one of several small tools and apps created as part of the Travel Tools & Tips project.

The wider project focuses on simple, practical apps for everyday travel and useful tasks.

Professional background

My day job is working in product design and digital product development as Head of Product Design at BroadShield, a company focused on workforce development software.

Projects like Conversion Buddy are personal side projects created independently in my own time. They give me a way to experiment, learn and build small focused tools from start to finish.

Important note

Conversion Buddy and the other apps on Travel Tools & Tips are personal side projects. They are not products of BroadShield, and BroadShield is not responsible for the content, tools or services published on this website.

Free to download apps with no hidden fees

This app has been built as a personal project to solve a task that I wanted a better app for. I enjoy the process of turning a simple idea into a finished, useful tool.

My focus is to build well-designed free apps, learn from feedback and keep useful versions available without subscriptions or hidden charges. Some parts of the website or app may include adverts or app promotions, mainly to help cover hosting, development and app-store costs.

That same philosophy shapes the wider Travel Tools & Tips project: creating useful travel and utility tools that are clear, approachable and enjoyable to use. Feedback is genuinely welcome.
